When selecting a bus on the Live Buses map it will bring up the vehicle information. As part of this, you will either see a “How busy is this vehicle?” section or a “Current capacity” section.
Most operators in the myTrip app have crowd-sourced bus occupancy information. This allows you, the passenger, to let other passengers know how busy the bus is. If other passengers have provided occupancy information, this will display as Busy, Moderate or Quiet.
Some operators have bus occupancy information provided by the bus ticket machine instead. This information should be more accurate.
If you come across a service that is providing consistently incorrect occupancy levels please let us know and we can investigate this and let the operator know.
